Journaling. Who would have thought I would dive into this practice? I’ve been seeing my therapist for over 3 years and she re-introduced me to the practice of mindfulness. Mindfulness – let me paraphrase – is a practice of focusing on the here and now through breathing exercises in order to tap into being present . It addresses the deeper emotions and thoughts that are often camouflaged through our day-to-day tasks and thoughts. The biggest thing for me was learning to accept whatever emotions are present without self-judgment.
Life is hard and good yet filled with so many triumphs and lessons.
We’re all human and by being more authentic about what was really going in my head and heart, the better version of myself has been able to shine through. Having a journal re-introduced me to myself and when I read back on my thoughts (which I sometimes do) – it’s refreshing to see that it’s all me — everything in every way.
Self- validating myself has brought me a long way & I like the woman I’ve become. So, I hope you can find this practice of journaling to be helpful too. Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever tried journaling and how it went or worked for you, honestly.
